Free Yourself from Burnout:

Let me help you begin your spiritual journey away from burnout, stress, and fear

Hi, my name is Lynne. I was an attorney who was employed by a large organization for over 21 years. Due to self-imposed pressure and the pressure of meeting seemingly never-ending deadlines, over the years, I felt increasingly anxious and depressed.

One day, I had a stress-related breakdown. To recover from the breakdown, I followed a three-step process where I focused on all aspects of myself: my body, my mind, and my soul. This process ultimately led to what I can only describe as a spiritual awakening. My life is now filled with joy and wonder.

I now feel called to help those of you who are facing work stress challenges similar to my own. I’m not doing this as a paid consultant or to make money, but rather to share my knowledge.

Your feelings of stress do not have to reach the breaking point. It’s never too soon to make different choices. If what I have to say resonates with you, please feel free to contact me. I am here for you.

It May be Time to Reconsider Your Path

TAKE A MOMENT TO REFLECT. DO ANY OF THESE FEEL TRUE FOR YOU?

Do you feel like:

You no longer enjoy your career?

Your career is causing you undue stress and you are headed towards a stress-related breakdown or burnout?

At your workplace, you are just a “cog in the wheel?”

You are essential to your workplace – if you don’t finish every project that you are responsible for, the project won’t get done?

You are trying your hardest to excel at work because you feel you need to do so in order to avoid criticism, or to gain everyone’s approval?

Your career or your work is your entire identity, such that you wouldn’t know what you would do without it, even though it is not enjoyable, is stressful, or both?

You are using your career/work to avoid facing challenges in your life or what is happening in the world?

More About My Path

Body

To get my anxiety and depression under control, I had to find a combination of medications that were right for me. In my case, my mental health challenges had a genetic component, so medication had to be part of the solution. For others, these challenges are purely situational (i.e., related solely to stress at work), and thus, no medication is needed. I also had to release the self-imposed “stigma” of having to take these medications.

Mind

Shortly after beginning the medication, I participated in an intensive outpatient program. This program met three days a week, for four or five hours a day. It, along with regular individual therapy, helped me to understand the thinking and behavior patterns which had kept me stuck. When I entered the program, my mind was so cluttered with those faulty patterns that I would have been unable to begin a spiritual journey, even if I had tried. I had to clear them out.

Spirit

When I told a coworker who is also a good friend that I was retiring from my employment and was no longer going to practice law, he asked me, “How will you be able to handle giving up your identity as an attorney?” I responded, “Being an attorney is not my identity. It is something I do.” I gave him this answer because I had discovered, or more correctly re-discovered, that I am not my career, nor am I any other role that I play.

“You think of yourselves as humans searching for a spiritual awakening, when in fact you are spiritual beings attempting to cope with a human awakening. Seeing yourselves from the perspective of the spirit within will help you to remember why you came here and what you came here to do.”
